Our first responders work hard at the best of times, at the worst of times they go above and beyond what most mere mortals could expect.

Fortem Australia has put a call out to first responders to identify and select four dedicated participants in the 2022 New York Marathon, to be held on Sunday, November 6.

It doesn’t sound like much of a rest, but co-founder and Managing Director of Fortem Australia, John Bale said that after many turbulent years of natural disasters, a global pandemic and the ongoing challenges confronting first responders across the country, they wanted to promote a good story.

“We wanted to get behind a team that can represent our nation - and first responder wellbeing - in this gruelling marathon,” Mr Bale.

“We are looking at linking with our American counterparts to raise a challenge and more importantly promote and encourage four worthy participants and a full support crew for the event.

“With over 360,000 first responders across the country, there is no doubt that we will see some incredible candidates.

“We will start promoting the participants early August, once selection has been completed.”

Details of the event and how to enter are available on the Fortem Australia website at www.fortemaustralia.org.au.
