Hawkesbury Business Events is a week of get-togethers to inspire innovation, growth and inspiration. The series was kicked off as the sun rose during a breakfast meeting at The Archibald in Kurrajong Heights. Other networking events were held in Windsor, Pitt Town and North Richmond yesterday and on Monday.

Today’s events are a morning tea at Colo Riverside Cafe from 10am and lunch at Windor’s Cornerstone cafe from 1pm.

Prismatic Group CEO and organiser, Stacy Kempton said the week set off with a promising start, with more events to join in. She said those attending are “passionate, innovative business people who are ready to expand their businesses and engage with the community”.

“Networking is so important because we connect with people and we can grow our community, a community of support, but also it can lead to actual leads for business. So you grow your business and you grow your support, which means you’re growing, your business is growing and it’s all healthy at a reasonable pace,” Ms Kempton said.

“It’s about getting your brand out there, getting you out there, but also hearing what other people have to say.” She said networking can be inspiring, rejuvenating and confidence-building, as well as social.

The aim is to attract different stakeholders to the events for the business community to mix together and discover the diversity of our region’s industries.

As we realise, and replace outsourced goods and services with those locally produced, Ms Kempton said the process becomes holistic with our community set to thrive together.

“It’s getting people aware of what we’ve got… we just need to learn about each other and know about each other.”

Other networking events are being held in Richmond, Bilpin, Kurrajong with a culminating event on Friday@5 Drinks and Nibbles as the sun sets at Enniskillen Orchard. Besides this finale, all networking events are free, but bookings for all events need to be made via Eventbrite.

A major conference will be held next month, with nominations for the Hawkesbury Business Awards also opening. There’s over 30 categories this year, recognising the diverse range of achievements and success of our local business community.
