A push for greater female participation across all sporting codes and levels across regional NSW has received a boost with the Stronger Country Communities Fund offering up to $100 million in its fourth round of funding.

The money is available for regional community projects and infrastructure dedicated to the delivery of female sports programs and facilities.

Up to $50 million is available for projects enhancing female participation in sport. The other $50 million will go toward high-quality community sports related infrastructure projects.

The latest round of the Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) is a fantastic program that has invested generously to projects across the area. Investments into communities like these are rare, so community groups are urged to get their applications in.

The SCCF is dedicated to enhancing communities and investing in programs and infrastructure that make those communities great places to live. The focus on women’s sporting facilities would help encourage women’s participation in local sport.

This funding is an opportunity to im-prove women’s sporting amenities, allow for purpose-built facilities and help to level the playing field for women and girls.

The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW government’s $2 billion Regional Growth Fund.

Applications for round four are now open and will close on Jun 25.
