Take the opportunity to apply for a Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grant to aid community connection and foster wellbeing.

Applications for Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants will close Sunday, July 10 at 11:59 pm.

Funded through NSW Health and the Commonwealth Department of Health in response to the 2022 floods, the Community Wellbeing and Resilience Grants of up to $5000 are to support the mental health of those affected.

Possible activities and initiatives eligible for funding include:

  • Activities that foster social connection by bringing community members together for the purpose of network building and forming friendships, like exercise classes, art therapy classes, barbecues and playgroups;
  • Initiatives promoting resilience, reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and accessing mental health and suicide prevention services;
  • Recovery-focused projects that aim to increase community resilience, capacity building and healing;
  • Information sharing about resources and services available in the community and how to access them;
  • Wellbeing and exercise classes that can be delivered in group settings and are known to improve physical and mental health;
  • Community education on topics such as managing stress, anxiety, depression, and stigma;
  • Practical advice and skills development programs, for example, for parents to help provide support for their children.
