Domino’s North Richmond recently donated more than ten piping-hot pizzas to the volunteers of Hawkesbury Helping Hands as part of the chain’s nationwide ‘Feed the Knead’ program.

The program aims to provide support to local causes in need in the form of free pizza.

For more than nine years, Hawkesbury’s Helping Hands has supported people experiencing homelessness, or those at risk of homelessness, with the care and support they need during a difficult time. This aid includes offering free meals every weekend to those in need.

Domino’s North Richmond franchisee Arshad Ali said he was proud to support the work the team at Hawkesbury’s Helping Hands do, and to have brightened the day of the volunteers who run the initiative by providing a safe, hot meal.

“The work the Hawkesbury Helping Hands volunteers do to support those in need during a difficult time is so important,” Mr Ali said.

“So to be able to provide a safe, hot meal to say thank you and bring a smile to their faces is something I feel very honoured to be able to do.

“Recently, it’s been a challenging time for many, and during times like this I recognise it is a privilege to remain open, so we wanted to use this opportunity to give back to the volunteers at Hawkesbury’s Helping Hands who are giving so much to our local community.

“I feel very passionate about giving back to the local community in which I operate, and while I recognise a slice of pizza can’t change the situations that some of our local community are facing, I hope it helped give the volunteers one less thing to worry about - a safe, hot meal.”

If you know someone in ‘knead’ in your community, submit a nomination via the Domino’s Feed the Knead website at https://www.dominos.com.au/feed-the-knead.
