Leading technology providers are invited to submit expressions of interest for Bradfield City Centre Digital Telecommunication opportunities.

As Australia’s newest city, Bradfield City Centre rapidly takes shape, technology providers have been called to submit expressions of interest to lay the digital foundations for the new high-tech city.

Investment in digital infrastructure would connect the new high-tech city to a digitally enabled future.

As the country’s first major city to be built in 100 years, Bradford City Centre will be enabled with all the infrastructure and technology needed to deliver a smart, safe, sustainable and resilient city.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are currently being sought from the market for:

  • Operation and management of a telecommunication pit and pipe asset network;
  • Right to provide the first telecommunications fibre network within the pit and pipe network to pre-fibre commercial, education, and residential developments with ultra-fast internet;
  • The provision of fibre and internet to support high-speed broadband services to people and businesses in new and future developments;
  • Right to lease, operate and fit out the reserved space for a Communications Centre that will remove the need for streetside utility boxes and enable better quality civic places; and
  • Right to manage a precinct-wide network of multi-function smart poles with lighting and other capabilities such as environmental sensors, CCTV, and mobile network microcells.

WPCA Chair, Jennifer Westacott AO said Bradfield City Centre would be designed with inbuilt digital capability from day one.

“We’re seeking world-leaders in the market to help us deliver a high-tech city that is smart, adaptive, and future-proofed for businesses and residents,” Ms Westacott said.

“This is a rare opportunity to get the fundamentals of digital capability right for generations to come and set a new benchmark for urban development right here in Western Sydney.”

The Expression of Interest (EOI) closes Wednesday, April 24 at 2 pm. Visit the WPCA website to learn more.

Prior to the deadline, an industry briefing session will be held on March 14 at 3 pm.
