Blue Mountains artist Imogen Clarke looks forward to performing live again soon.

Two and a half thousand bodies packed Governor Phillip Park in Windsor last Sunday for the Hawkesbury Flood Relief Concert.

There’s something about live music that really gets people’s attention, add some great food, something to wet the whistle and excellent company and you have everything a body could need.

World-class musical artists were more than happy to lend their support to such a worthy cause.

After being rocked by floods and forced to rebuild, repair and restock, Hawkesbury residents were ready for a good time.

Co-organiser Jarryd Faint said that everyone seemed to have a great time. “All-in-all, it was a great night,” he said.

“We had two-and-a-half thousand people in the park, and in hindsight that was the right number. I have no idea how much money was raised or how many pledges were received, but everybody looked happy.”

Money raised will be distributed throughout the Hawkesbury via Rotary, who had volunteers lending a helping hand on the day.

One volunteer said it was a great event.

“I was there on behalf of Rotary, giving back to the community and letting people know we are here,” she said.

“I had tickets, so after I finished volunteering I stayed on and enjoyed the night.”

Looking over Facebook comments about the event it is evident that everything was a huge success from the artists right through to the venue.

Blue Mountains artist Imogen Clarke said that she hoped that more live performances such as this one would make a comeback.

“It’s such a wonderful thing to have live music, especially when you’ve been deprived of it for so long due to the pandemic,” Ms Clarke said.

“It’s wonderful to be able to do something like this in our hometown.”

Not only was the music amazing, the event allowed mates to catch up and just relax together.
