All the excitement and action of the Hawkesbury 120 Ski Race Classic 2023 will take place this weekend.

Hawkesbury City Council has advised that the Hawkesbury 120 Ski Race Classic 2023 to take place this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15 will impact ferry services.

The event will cause delays to ferry services on the Lower Portland Ferry and Sackville Ferry.

Both the Sackville Ferry and Lower Portland Ferry will experience delays in service during the race event between 8 am and 5 pm on Sunday.

Vehicles can use the following routes during ferry delays:

  • Via Putty Road to Windsor on the western side; and
  • Via Pitt Town, Cattai and Wisemans Ferry Roads to Windsor on the eastern side.

Roads and Maritime have granted an Exclusive Use Aquatic Licence to Ski Racing NSW Inc to conduct the event due to the potential effect on the safety of navigation.

To conduct the event, an exclusion zone will be established on the navigable waters of the Hawkesbury River, from Windsor to Wisemans ferry between the above times on the above dates.

The zone will be patrolled by a control vessel, which will advise vessel operators not to enter.

The River will be closed from Windsor to Sackville Ski Gardens, Ebenezer from 8 am to 5 pm Saturday, October 14 and from Windsor to NSW Ski Gardens, Wiseman Ferry from 8 am to 5 pm.

Council has also approved an Exclusive Use boating event at Governor Phillip Park for the weekend.

Arrangements have been made for the community to access the playground at the Park via the grass overflow parking area through the gates opposite the playground.

Community members are advised to follow directions from event organisers.
