Aussie legends and Optus ambassadors urge teenagers to apply for an Optus Inspiration Grant.

Turning dreams into reality can be difficult, but Optus has come up with a way to help young people do just that.

Hawkesbury youth, aged between 13 and 19 with aspirations in all fields, passions or disciplines are urged to apply for an Optus Inspiration grant.

Sixty-four young people from across the country will receive an equal share of $192,000 to help them live their dream.

Head of Consumer Marketing at Optus, Cam Luby said as the official supporter and broadcaster of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, Optus wanted to help inspire the next generation of teenagers in the Hawkesbury region.

“For young Australians, we want to help remove some of the daunting challenges teenagers face when making decisions about their future dreams, with financial burdens being a key barrier.

“Our Inspiration Grants program is there to help young people from Hawkesbury kickstart their dreams and realise their full potential.”

Aussie legends and Optus ambassadors have also got behind the initiative; identities such as Ian Thorpe and Daniel Ricciardo have encouraged young Aussies to get inspired, dream big, and say yes to pursuing their passion by applying.

Ian Thorpe, Decorated Australian Olympian said one of his life hacks was not postponing life by hitting the snooze button.

“Getting up and going as soon as you wake is the way to get things done,” he said.

Daniel Ricciardo, Chief of Optimism said for as long as he could remember he had dreamed of being in Formula 1.

“The moment my foot hit the pedal for the first time, I knew this was where I belonged,” Mr Ricciardo said.

“It was such an awesome feeling.

“Through their Inspiration Grants, Optus is giving 64 young people across Australia a kick-start to help them achieve their dreams – whatever that may be.

“And let me tell you, if you can take that opportunity and use it to your advantage, something like this could change your life.”

“If you want to get ahead in your chosen field, it’s best to break it down into clear steps that will get you to that goal a little bit quicker.”

The only way to score is to take the shot.

Apply online via www.optus.com.au/grants and tell us in 100 words or less, ‘What future goal are you inspired to say yes to, and how would this grant help you achieve this goal?’.

Applications close on August 20 August as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 draws to an end.
