He may be a newcomer to the Hawkesbury area, but he has already proved himself to be one hundred percent committed to the community. Kevin Paryani purchased the 7Eleven at McGrath’s Hill just six months ago, yet he had no hesitation helping out during the floods.

Josh Robinson was orchestrating as much aid as he could muster for people in need following the flood.

When Mr Paryani was asked to donate unleaded fuel to be taken across the river, he agreed immediately.

“When Josh collected the fuel, I thought, “Damn, why didn’t I donate them milk,” Mr Paryani said.

“So, I called Josh and asked if they could use milk and he said, “Yes.”

“I set my staff to gather together the milk.” In total, Mr Paryani donated two crates, filled with 18 2-litre bottles of milk along with the fuel. He said he was happy to help because life is short.

“It’s for a good cause,” he said.

“It was so painful for people.

“I literally slept on my shop floor.

“I can understand their pain.”

Mr Paryani said that he was happy to help and felt that it was a small thing to do compared with what others gave. “They gave their time, I only gave milk,” he said. “It’s our community. We have to band together.”

In the short time that he and his family have been fixtures in the area, they have emersed themselves in the community.

“All my locals they know me very well,” he said. “You should be likeable.” When he told his wife and children about his donation to the cause, they were thrilled.

“They were like, “we’re so proud of you”,” Mr Paryani said.

“I want to teach my children all these good things when they’re young.“They’ve got to learn early. “Money comes and goes, but as humans, when we do things like this it gives you a good feeling.”
