Coach of the new Waratah League Squad seems very happy with the way his premier squad has played so far.

“This is the elite level men’s open,” Mr Bell said.

“It is the highest level.

“The Colo Soccer Club’s side has a squad of 35, a first grade and reserve-grade side.

“They’re going really well. We’ve played five games so far and we’re at the top of the table.”

First grade, with four wins and a draw, none out is currently sitting in first place on the ladder.

Reserve grade, with four wins and a loss is sitting in second place. There are still a couple of games left for round one.

“Because it’s a newly formed competition, we don’t know a lot about the other teams until we’ve played them.”

The Waratah League squad players range in age from 16 to 36 years, which gives the team experience along with young blood. They play Saturday afternoons. Next week they play in Penrith.

The Waratahs have also entered the State Cup and the Napean Cup. These are knockout events, so they need to win to keep playing.
