North Richmond’s Turnbull Oval Gets $4.8M Upgrade

North Richmond celebrates an upcoming upgrade for Turnbull Oval thanks to funding from Westinvest.

Turnbull Oval, North Richmond will receive a $4.8 million upgrade courtesy of the State Government’s $5 billion Westinvest program.

The Turnbull Oval project will be a co-funded project between the State Government and Council.

Hawkesbury City Council Mayor, Sarah McMahon welcomed the announcement.

“We are excited for the opportunity to provide the much-improved facilities for local residents and sporting clubs,” Mayor McMahon said.

“Council is currently developing designs and a funding model to deliver the best possible outcomes at Turnbull Oval in a fiscally responsible manner.

“This will then be considered by Council.

“We look forward to sharing these plans with the community in the coming months.”

Member for Hawkesbury, Robyn Preston MP said that this funding announcement was a great win for North Richmond.

“It’s wonderful to see the NSW Government investing in this historic oval which will encourage greater participation with these improved facilities,” Ms Preston said.

“I know that the clubs at Turnbull Oval are particularly thrilled with this funding.

“This oval is a much-loved sporting facility within North Richmond and is the only field west of Hawkesbury that hosts rugby league competitions.

“The cricket and netball clubs at the ground will also benefit from this sport infrastructure upgrade.”

In Hawkesbury, $4.8 million has been allocated to the Turnbull Oval, North Richmond Park project which includes a grandstand, a new clubhouse with a commercial-grade kitchen and amenities block, improved playing fields and netball courts, a new playground, perimeter fencing and car park upgrade.
