Hawkesbury’s 2021 Woman of the Year was awarded to Dennise Williams.

Mrs Williams has always been devoted to her community, and hence balanced home life, with an accountancy career and giving back.

She did support the community via joining the P&C Committee her at children’s school.

In 2015, she accepted the role of P&C President.

Working with others, the committee received government funding raised $148,000 to renovate an area, which became out of school hours care (OOSH).

It now supports over 100 families in the community with before and after school care for 40 students.

The committee developed and fostered local business relationships. Through community support, the school was provided with additional resources.

They purchased 100 laptops for students, and computers for all teachers, playground equipment, a school soccer field with artificial grass, a gymnastic program and new furniture for the library.

Mrs Williams gathered for a breakfast with Member for Hawkesbury, Robyn Preston last Wednesday, to celebrate the work of Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor MLC, Members of Parliament and other NSW women.

“I am sure I echo many Hawkesbury local voices in saying how proud we are to have Dennise recognised today for her commitment to the community,” said Ms Preston.
