Practice a minute’s silence at 11 am this Remembrance Day to remember Australia’s fallen veterans.

It has been said time and time again, we remember them lest we forget.

Today is Remembrance Day - a day in which we set aside a little time to consciously remember the sacrifices that our servicemen and women, both past and present, have made on our behalf.

The 2021 Census data has revealed that more than half a million Australians had served or were currently serving, in the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

One in 20 Aussie households reported at least one person who had served or was serving in the ADF, so raising awareness of the services and supports available to them is crucial.

This Remembrance Day, RSL NSW has called on the wider community to show their support to veterans by attending a Remembrance Day commemoration, donating to the Poppy Appeal or by connecting a veteran that will they know with the services and support offered by the RSL.

RSL NSW President, Ray James called on veterans to join RSL NSW and tape into a wealth of support options available to them and their families, including mentoring, events an community.

Remembrance Day services have already taken place on November 6 at the War Memorials at Colo Park and at Freemans Reach.

Today’s Remembrance Day services will take place at:

  • Richmond War Memorial, East Market Street, Richmond at 10:45 am for a 10:55 start. (Hosted by Richmond RSL Sub-Branch)
  • McQuade Park, Windsor. (Hosted by Windsor RSL Sub-Branch)
  • Memorial Park Kurrajong at 10:45 am.
