Voting for the right person to represent us in government isn’t always as easy as we’d like it to be.

The Pitt Town Progress Association has organised a State Election Hawkesbury Candidates Forum to help make things a little clearer for us.

The forum will take place at the Pitt Town Sporties Club on Wednesday, March 8 commencing at 7:30 pm.

Each candidate will be allocated five to eight minutes to explain key elements of their platform and what they hope to do for the Hawkesbury should they be elected.

A spokesperson from the Pitt Town Progress Association said they hoped to attract residents from across the region.

“We have organised this event so that residents can meet each of the candidates at a single venue and hear the core platform that each candidate represents,” the spokesperson said.

“It also provides a forum where questions can be asked of the candidates within the time constraints of the forum.

“Time permitting, at the conclusion of the forum, residents will be able to talk individually to the candidates in attendance.”

A 30-minute Q&A session will be held at the conclusion of each candidate’s speech, with the entire event planned to conclude at around 9 pm.

The following candidates have confirmed their attendance:

  • Robyn Preston, Liberal Party;
  • Amanda Kotlash, Labor Party;
  • Danielle Wheeler, Greens Party;
  • Angela Maguire, Independent;
  • Eddie Dogramaci - Small Business Party;
  • Tony Pettitt, Independent; and
  • Shane Djuric (Upper House), Shooters, Fishers & Farmers Party.

Hawkesbury residents are urged to make sure they are aware of what each candidate hopes to achieve for the region should they be elected as our State Representative.
