The Australian Air League Richmond Squadron is seeking avid wannabe-aviators aged 8 to 18.

Does your youngster dream of flying?

Are they fascinated by aeroplanes and talk about being able to fly a plane?

The Australian Air League Richmond Squadron may be just the thing - and it is currently recruiting.

The Australian Air League has been teaching youngsters across the country about aviation since 1934 - that’s almost 90 years.

Through fun activities, training camps, sport and recreational days as well as interesting classes in meteorology, navigation, photography and community services, young Australians learn valuable skills that they can take into the wide world with them, whether they take up aviation as a career or hobby later on in life.

The aims and objectives of the league include:

  • To promote and encourage the development of aviation in the country’s youth;
  • To promote good citizenship;
  • To promote ingenuity and resourcefulness of its members; and
  • To develop the physical and mental abilities of its members.

Children from 8 to 18 years are eligible to join the Australian Air League.

They will make friends and take part in activities both on the ground and in the air.

Youth involved in the program also develop important life skills including leadership, discipline, self-confidence and teamwork.

The Australian Air League Richmond Squadron meets weekly on Friday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Richmond Public School Hall. For more information, email oc.richmond@airleague.com.au.
