Zig Zag railway line

Zig Zag Railway reopens this weekend with a huge celebration in honour of the railway’s 154th birthday.

There will be entertainment, local produce markets, plenty of refreshments and short 45-minute taster rides on the famous steam train. All of this tomorrow, Saturday, October 28.

Park at Clarence Station off the Bells Line of Road or catch the free shuttle bus running between Lithgow and Mount Victoria to Clarence Station throughout the day.

Find tickets and further details at https://buff.ly/490TfWC To ensure your day runs smoothly and you get the most out of the unique experience.

If you want to ride the train you must get a pre-booked ticket and only purchase tickets from the official website.

All Zig Zag Railway facilities are card-only, so make sure you go along prepared.

Market holders on the day may take cash.

A free shuttle bus from Lithgow, Mt Victoria, Bell, Dargan and Clarence could remove the stress of parking.

If you catch the Transport for NSW service, make sure you get off at Mt Vic, Bell or Lithgow and catch the free shuttle to Clarence Station because there’s no access to the event via the Zig Zag Station.

Arriving at least 30 minutes before your train trip gives you enough time to check in, visit the cafe and restrooms and get seats with your family and friends.

Check-in on arrival and pick up your souvenir ticket before boarding the train.

Pack snacks and drinks for the trip or visit the on-site cafe, coffee cart or RFS sausage sizzle before you depart because there are no food or drink facilities once you board the train.

All seats have been booked and paid for by passengers; people are asked not to place their bags or other belongings on seats.

Children under three years of age are free if on a parent’s lap.

Transferred tickets cannot be accepted, so if you are unable to attend, email Zig Zag Railway and arrange a cancellation and credit if you’re eligible.

Remain at least five metres from the tracks unless at a station and never cross the tracks unless on a designated crossing.

The ABCD Lyrebird Market will be operating at the reopening, so bring your shopping bags and get some Christmas specials.
